Passing Criteria
To pass the NUMS 2024 test:
For MBBS, you need to score at least 55%.
For BDS, a minimum of 45% is required.
Merit Calculation
Your final merit score for NUMS will be based on three factors:
NUMS Entry Test score (50% weight)
Your FSc/HSSC/Equivalent score (40% weight)
Your Matric/SSC/Equivalent score (10% weight)
How to Calculate Your NUMS Merit Manually:
Step 1: Calculate the percentages for each score:
For example, if you scored:
130 out of 150 in NUMS, your percentage is 86.67%.
1050 out of 1100 in HSSC/FSc, your percentage is 95.45%
1070 out of 1100 in SSC/Matric, your percentage is 97.72%
Step 2: Apply the weights to each percentage:
NUMS Entry Test Score (50%): Multiply by 50/100
HSSC/FSc Score (40%): Multiply by 40/100
SSC/Matric Score (10%): Multiply by 10/100
Step 3: Add up the weighted scores from Step 2 to get your final NUMS MDCAT Merit Score.
For example, if your calculations result in:
NUMS Entry Test Score: 43.335%
HSSC/FSc Score: 38.18%
SSC/Matric Score: 9.77%
Your NUMS MDCAT 2023 Merit Score would be 43.335% + 38.18% + 9.77% = 91.285%.
This simplified explanation helps students understand how their NUMS MDCAT merit score is calculated, making the process more accessible.
